What is Octopunx?
Octopunx is the streaming and community home of Octopunk Media - creators of the horror feature Livescreamers, the tabletop RPG show Breakout Rolls, and the Reed900 fan film Detroit Evolution. We have been making queer and subversive films since 2016, streaming on Twitch since 2019, ran a successful Patreon from 2019-2025, and now have launched Octopunx TV as a platform of our own.
I was a member of the old Patreon. What does that mean for my membership?
Any tenure you built up in your previous Patreon membership is automatically credited to your account, and you will continue to get iron-on patches on your yearly anniversary dates.
Patreon had six years of content. What happened to it now that Patreon is closed?
Our scripts are now hosted in the community section of Octopunx, and galleries are here on the site. As for our old group calls and livestreams, they are selectively being taken from Youtube, edited and remastered if needed, and crossposted to Octopunx for all members (including free members). Some old streams may be taken down if they had significant technical issues or simply weren't engaging. Once this migration is complete, Patreon will be closed. For now, Patreon's billing system is frozen and no one is being charged.
How much does it cost?
We offer a free tier with ad-free access to our backlist of content, pilot episodes of new shows, and all community features. Our Basic Membership of $4.99/month or $49.99/year includes access to the entire website, ad free, including new shows like Ships and Giggles and Breakout Rolls.

How often does new content come out?
We guarantee new episodes, live series, podcasts, or films every single month. Usually a season of one of our shows will release new episodes for 1-2 months straight, and then we will switch to a different new show or film launch the following month. Our filmmaker showcases rotate with new films every quarter!
Can I get an Octopunx membership through YouTube?
We do not currently offer a $4.99/month tier that includes Octopunx content, although this may be an option we explore in the future. There may be some folks who just want to access our content withot all the other benefits of Octopunx, coupled with some of the ease-of-access of YouTube. Currently you can get an Octopunk Media YouTube Membership for $2.99/month, which essentially just includes chat emotes for any Octopunk Media live broadcasts, similar to the benefits of our Twitch subscriptions.

Where can I send my screenplay/actor reel/movie for distribution?
Please don't send any unsolicited material. We delete pitches and materials unread. We are also not a distributor and do not currently take aquisitions of films or series. If you would like to be considered as an actor in a future project, please follow Octopunk Media on social media for open calls. We don't keep reels and resumes on file when we are not actively casting.
What methods of payment are accepted for membership?
Our payment portal is powered by Stripe, so any compatible payment methods with Stripe can be used.
What TV apps are available?
None currently, but a Roku app is under development.
How do I cast Octopunx to my TV through Chromecast?
If you open octopunx.tv in Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop, you can cast to a Chromecast compatible device, such as a Smart TV! Just connect your Chromecast device and your computer to the same local network (wifi or LAN) and you can cast either the full browser window or just the video player. Open Octopunx In Google Chrome and go to the upper right of your browser window. Click the three vertical dots. Scroll down to "Cast, save, and share" and hit "Cast." Chrome will scan for compatible devices. Click the device of your choice to connect. If you want to control playback, captions, etc, you can do that from your browser window. Alternatively, go to the video player of the video you want to watch, and click the Chromecast icon in the bottom right corner of the player controls to cast via the player alone.
How do I cast to my TV using AirPlay?
If you have an iOS or iPadOS device, you can either mirror your device's screen or AirPlay directly from the mobile browser on your device. AirPlay is not supported on Android devices. Screen Mirroring: 1. Connect your iOS/iPadOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV. Open the Control Center 2. On iPhone X or later, or iPadOS 13 or later → Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier → Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen. 2. Tap the Screen Mirroring icon. 3.Select your Apple TV device or AirPlay 2 compatible smart TV from the list. 4. If a passcode appears on your TV, enter the code on your iOS/iPadOS device. Your device's screen will mirror to your TV. Your TV uses your iOS/iPadOS device's screen orientation and aspect ratio. To fill your TV screen with the mirrored device screen, change your TV's aspect ratio or zoom settings. Can I be an intern? I promise you don't have to pay me.
We don't believe in unpaid interships, and unfortunately don't have the capital to hire additional help beyond that. We also don't have a studio space or brick and mortar location, so it's mostly just Michelle in her loft doing all the work. We may open some kind of accelerator program for young artists at some point, though, and we occasionally commission artists. Keep an eye out for open calls.

What methods of payment are accepted for membership?
Our payment portal is powered by Stripe, so any compatible payment methods with Stripe can be used.
What TV apps are available?
None currently, but a Roku app is under development.
How do I cast Octopunx to my TV through Chromecast?
If you open octopunx.tv in Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop, you can cast to a Chromecast compatible device, such as a Smart TV! Just connect your Chromecast device and your computer to the same local network (wifi or LAN) and you can cast either the full browser window or just the video player. Open Octopunx In Google Chrome and go to the upper right of your browser window. Click the three vertical dots. Scroll down to "Cast, save, and share" and hit "Cast." Chrome will scan for compatible devices. Click the device of your choice to connect. If you want to control playback, captions, etc, you can do that from your browser window. Alternatively, go to the video player of the video you want to watch, and click the Chromecast icon in the bottom right corner of the player controls to cast via the player alone.
How do I cast to my TV using AirPlay?
If you have an iOS or iPadOS device, you can either mirror your device's screen or AirPlay directly from the mobile browser on your device. AirPlay is not supported on Android devices. Screen Mirroring: 1. Connect your iOS/iPadOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV. Open the Control Center 2. On iPhone X or later, or iPadOS 13 or later → Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier → Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen. 2. Tap the Screen Mirroring icon. 3.Select your Apple TV device or AirPlay 2 compatible smart TV from the list. 4. If a passcode appears on your TV, enter the code on your iOS/iPadOS device. Your device's screen will mirror to your TV. Your TV uses your iOS/iPadOS device's screen orientation and aspect ratio. To fill your TV screen with the mirrored device screen, change your TV's aspect ratio or zoom settings. To use player controls (fast forward, rewind, pause, etc.), you will need to do so via the player options on your mobile device. To stop mirroring your iOS/iPadOS device, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, then tap Stop Mirroring. Alternatively, press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote. If the above method does not work for you, try these steps instead. 1. Navigate to the Octopunx website on your mobile browser and open the video you want to watch. 2. Tap the screen so that that player options appear, then tap the AirPlay icon. 3. A window will appear displaying the devices to which you can AirPlay. Tap on the desired Apple TV device. If a passcode appears on your Apple TV, enter the code on your mobile device. The video will begin playing on your TV. Your mobile device will display a message indicating that it is currently AirPlaying. When AirPlaying via this method, you can access playing controls (fast forward, pauce, rewind, captions, etc.) via the player controls on the mobile browser that is open on your device, or via the AppleTV remote. Note: You can navigate away from the player screen on your device as long as you are on a different mobile browser tab than the one that is being AirPlayed. However, if you go to another site within the same tab that the video is open on, the video will stop Airplaying.

We do not accept gifts or mail on behalf of any actors or crew, so if you want to send something to one of our collaborators, it is best to reach out to them directly.
Can I be an intern? I promise you don't have to pay me.
We don't believe in unpaid interships, and unfortunately don't have the capital to hire additional help beyond that. We also don't have a studio space or brick and mortar location, so it's mostly just Michelle in her loft doing all the work. We may open some kind of accelerator program for young artists at some point, though, and we occasionally commission artists. Keep an eye out for open calls.
