Q: I'm having issues with the video player saving my progress, not playing, etc.

First, make sure you allow third-party cookies from player.vimeo.com in your browser. If your playback is slow or laggy, you can change it to a lower resolution in the gear settings.

Q: How do I turn on subtitles?

Some videos have auto generated English subtitles. Most films have manually made English subtitles, and in some cases, a variety of other languages. In all cases, you can select the CC icon in the lower right corner of the player and choose a language. You can access the Customize menu within CC settings to edit font size, font color, font edge styling, background color, and background opacity. To edit the caption and subtitle appearance, first, click the [CC] button below the player and then select Customize. The Font, Background, and Window menus each contain customizable settings. Make sure you have captions/subtitles turned on to see the changes as you make them.


Q: How do I turn on commentary tracks?

Click the gear icon on the video player and change it from "original audio" to "commentary." Occasionally, if there is a second commentary, it may be under the label "audio description."


Q: How do I cast Octopunx to my television through Chromecast?

If you open octopunx.tv in Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop, you can cast to a Chromecast compatible device, such as a Smart TV!

Just connect your Chromecast device and your computer to the same local network (wifi or LAN).

Open Octopunx in Google Chrome and go to the upper right of your browser window. Click the three vertical dots. Scroll down to "Cast, save, and share" and hit "Cast." Chrome will scan for compatible devices. Click the device of your choice to connect. If you want to control playback, captions, etc, you can do that from your browser window.

Q: How do I cast Octopunx to my television through AirPlay?

If you have an iPad or iPhone, you can either mirror your device's screen or AirPlay directly from the mobile browser.

Screen Mirroring:

  1. Connect your iOS/iPadOS device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV.

  2. Depending on your device's age, you will wipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen or up from the bottom of the screen to show the Screen Mirroring button. Tap it.

  3. Select your compatible smart TV or Apple TV from the list.

  4. If a passcode appears on your TV, enter the code on your mobile device.

Your TV will mirror your device's screen orientation and aspect ratio. To fill your TV screen with the mirrored device screen, change your TV's crop settings. To control the player, and to stop mirroring, do so via your iOS device.

Airplay:

1. Navigate to the Octopunx website on your iOS device's browser.
2. Tap the screen for the player options, then tap the AirPlay icon.
3. Tap on the desired Apple TV device from the list of options that appears.
4. If a passcode appears on your Apple TV, enter the code on your mobile device.

Keep the casting tab open to continue AirPlaying. To control the player, and to stop mirroring, do so via your iOS device or your Apple TV remote.


Q: How do I integrate Discord with my Octopunx account?

Some Log in, go to the "Profile" button on the upper navigation bar, and go to the Discord tag. Follow the instructions to sync your account to our server. You will get a "Member" or "VIP" role automatically that will be sync'd to your membership status.


Q: I forgot my password.

There is a "forgot password" button in the Log In pop-up that you can use to reset your password.
